Wind Conditions in Squamish
Being able to predict the kiteboarding weather forecast will ensure you have a great days riding. If you can see the sun in Squamish, generally it will be windy as it is thermal wind. If you want to be able to predict the wind in advance, here are some tips.
Temperature gradients from Vancouver to Lillooet are an accurate indicator of wind conditions. As Lillooet and areas above heat up to a higher temperature than Vancouver, cooler air from the south replaces the warmer air from above, funneled by the mountains. Visit the temperature gradient to check the forecast.
Howe Sound Forecast
The Howe Sound Marine Forecast is a more precise tool that includes the predicted wind knots and time of day.
Squamish Windsports Society (SWS) Wind Graph
During the season, 15th May to 15th September, Squamish Water Sports Society has a live wind graph which displays the wind speed and direction.
